As soon as we left Disney's California Adventure from our Disneyland Half Meet-Up, Jenny and I knew what we would be facing over at the expo. So we hauled our cookies over there as quickly as we could. As soon as we got close, I realized there was a good chance that they were selling the coveted New Balance runDisney Minnie Mouse shoes. I also realized I had forgotten my debit card in the car. Thankfully, Jenny held my place in line (aka in the craziness) while I ran to my car to get my debit card. Then she had seen where they were sizing people for them and giving them a card to ensure they would get their pair. As soon as I got back, she sent me over in line to get my shoes. It was nuts there though. People were hot and grumpy. This might have been the only part of the weekend I felt wasn't magical. However, I pushed through it and landed this:
Giddiness, doesn't come close to describing how excited I was for these shoes. Thank goodness for Jenny! Jenny's friend Lilcee also came by to wait in line with us while we waited to get into the expo.I felt so bad for her, I had been sweating for about 4 hours now non stop and now she had to stand in line next to me. Sorry Lilcee! As soon as we got into the expo, Jenny was once again thinking ahead and grabbed this photo op while there was no line.
At that point, it was madness. Jenny and Lilcee went to check out the expo while I waited in an hour long line to buy my Dumbo Double Dare merchandise. I kept doubting if it was worth it, but later that night when Drew and I went back, all of the Dumbo Dare merchandise was sold out. Whew, glad I bought it when I did! Right after I checked out, Jenny let me know she was in line for bib pick up. Another line! So we got in line for that. Once we got into bib pick up, we had to wait in yet another line for our shirts. Are you kidding me?! runDisney has some work to do in the expo area. Originally the plan was to hit up the parks for a little bit after the expo but at this point, I think Jenny and I were over it. She had to pick up her daughter from school and I still had yet another line to stand in for my New Balance Shoes. But check these babies out. Wouldn't you wait in line for these kicks? LOVE! I haven't worn them yet, I don't know when I will. It's like a new car. You are so nervous for that first scratch or scuff. I don't want to ruin these!
Jeff Galloway's booth and he was there. I let him know how much I enjoyed our run/walk this morning and he showed me his "little green box". It basically is a interval timer that lets you know when to run/walk to maintain a certain pace. It was 20 bucks but I got my annual pass discount if I bought it at the expo. With the next day's weather looking similar if not worse than it was that morning...I told Drew we had to give it a try if we wanted to finish the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge on top. Sold!
